Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 carrots, diced
- 2 potatoes, diced
- 3 cups beef broth
- 1 can diced tomatoes (14 oz)
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 cup frozen peas
Instructions
- Brown the Ground Beef
In a large pot, brown the ground beef over medium heat. Once cooked, drain excess fat to ensure the stew isn’t too greasy. - Sauté the Vegetables
Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the pot with the beef. Cook until the onion is soft and translucent, stirring occasionally. - Add the Carrots and Potatoes
Stir in the diced carrots and potatoes. Cook for about 5 minutes to allow the vegetables to start softening. - Incorporate the Liquids and Seasonings
Pour in the beef broth and the can of diced tomatoes. Season with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Stir well to combine all the ingredients. - Simmer the Stew
Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat. Cover the pot and let the stew simmer for 20-25 minutes, or until the vegetables are tender and the flavors have melded together. - Add the Peas
Stir in the frozen peas and cook for an additional 5 minutes. The peas will add a pop of color and sweetness to the stew. - Serve and Enjoy
Once everything is cooked through, ladle the hot stew into bowls and serve immediately. Enjoy the warm, comforting flavors of your homemade Hamburger Stew.
