How to Make Date-Sweetened Tahini Banana Bars
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C), and line an 8×8" baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. Pit and soak Medjool dates in warm water for about ten minutes, until they’re plump.
  3. In a food processor, combine soaked dates, ripe bananas, tahini, and vanilla extract; blend until smooth.
  4. In a large bowl, whisk together whole wheat flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and sea salt.
  5. Gently fold the blended date-banana mixture into the dry ingredients using a spatula.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 25–30 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Allow the bars to cool in the pan for 15 minutes before lifting out and slicing into squares.
