Slow Cooker Salisbury Steak Meatballs Recipe

  • Author: David

Ingredients

Scale

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 packet onion soup mix
  • 1 cup sliced mushrooms
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch (optional for thickening)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Meatball Mixture:

    • In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, egg, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.

  2. Form the Meatballs:

    • Shape the meat mixture into 1.5-inch meatballs. This should yield about 15-20 meatballs, depending on size.

  3. Arrange in the Slow Cooker:

    • Place the formed meatballs in the bottom of your slow cooker, ensuring they are evenly distributed.

  4. Prepare the Sauce:

    • In a separate bowl, whisk together the beef broth, onion soup mix, sliced mushrooms, and Worcestershire sauce.

  5. Cook the Meatballs:

    • Pour the sauce mixture over the meatballs in the slow cooker.
    • Cover and cook on low heat for 6-7 hours or on high heat for 3-4 hours, until the meatballs are cooked through and tender.

  6. (Optional) Thicken the Gravy:

    • If you prefer a thicker gravy, mix cornstarch with a small amount of water to create a slurry. Stir this into the sauce in the slow cooker about 30 minutes before serving.
