Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 packet onion soup mix
- 1 cup sliced mushrooms
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tbsp cornstarch (optional for thickening)
Instructions
- Prepare the Meatball Mixture:
- In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, egg, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.
- Form the Meatballs:
- Shape the meat mixture into 1.5-inch meatballs. This should yield about 15-20 meatballs, depending on size.
- Arrange in the Slow Cooker:
- Place the formed meatballs in the bottom of your slow cooker, ensuring they are evenly distributed.
- Prepare the Sauce:
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the beef broth, onion soup mix, sliced mushrooms, and Worcestershire sauce.
- Cook the Meatballs:
- Pour the sauce mixture over the meatballs in the slow cooker.
- Cover and cook on low heat for 6-7 hours or on high heat for 3-4 hours, until the meatballs are cooked through and tender.
- (Optional) Thicken the Gravy:
- If you prefer a thicker gravy, mix cornstarch with a small amount of water to create a slurry. Stir this into the sauce in the slow cooker about 30 minutes before serving.
