Pumpkin Spice Latte Recipe

  • Author: David

Ingredients

    • Espresso: 1 shot of freshly brewed espresso or 1/2 cup of strong coffee

    • Milk: 1 cup (use whole, skim, almond, or any preferred dairy alternative)

    • Pumpkin Puree: 2 tablespoons

    • Pumpkin Pie Spice: 1/2 teaspoon (a blend of cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and cloves)

    • Vanilla Extract: 1 teaspoon

    • Sugar: 1 to 2 tablespoons (adjust to taste)

    • Whipped Cream: Optional, for topping

    • Cinnamon Stick: Optional, for garnish

Instructions

    1. Brew Your Coffee: Start by brewing one shot of espresso or 1/2 cup of strong coffee. Set aside.

    1. Mix Pumpkin and Spices: In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine the pumpkin puree and pumpkin pie spice. Stir constantly for about 2 minutes until it becomes fragrant.

    1. Add Milk and Sugar: Pour in the milk and sugar. Stir well to combine and heat the mixture until it’s hot but not boiling. Avoid scalding the milk.

    1. Blend in Vanilla: Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.

    1. Froth the Milk: Use a milk frother to froth the milk mixture until it becomes creamy and foamy. If you don’t have a frother, you can whisk the mixture vigorously by hand or use an immersion blender.

    1. Combine Coffee and Milk: Pour the hot espresso (or strong coffee) into a mug. Slowly add the frothy milk mixture on top, holding back the foam with a spoon to pour the liquid first, then spoon the foam over.

    1. Garnish and Serve: Top your latte with a generous swirl of whipped cream and a sprinkle of pumpkin pie spice or a cinnamon stick if desired.
