Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup melted butter
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup brown sugar for topping
- Cooking spray
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a mini donut pan with cooking spray to ensure easy removal after baking. - Mix Dry Ingredients
In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Stir these ingredients together until well mixed. - Combine Wet Ingredients
In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, melted butter, vanilla extract, and egg. Ensure that the mixture is smooth and well blended. - Combine Wet and Dry Mixtures
Pour the wet ingredients into the bowl of dry ingredients. Mix until just combined, being careful not to over-mix as this can result in dense donuts. - Fill the Donut Pan
Fill each cavity of the mini donut pan about halfway with the batter. This ensures that your donuts will rise to the perfect height. - Bake the Donuts
Place the pan in the preheated oven and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the donuts are golden brown and spring back when touched. - Cool and Prepare the Topping
Allow the donuts to cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack. Once cooled, sprinkle brown sugar on top of each donut. - Caramelize the Sugar
Use a kitchen torch to caramelize the brown sugar until it becomes bubbly and forms a crisp topping. If you don’t have a torch, you can use your oven’s broiler for a few seconds, but watch closely to prevent burning.
