Green Apple Syrup Recipe

  • Author: David

Ingredients

Scale

    • 4 green apples, diced

    • 1 cup sugar

    • 1 cup water

    • 1 tsp lemon juice

    • 1/2 tsp cinnamon (optional)

Instructions

    1. Prepare the Ingredients: Start by washing and dicing the green apples. There’s no need to peel them as the skin adds a nice texture and flavor.

    1. Combine Ingredients: In a medium-sized pot, combine the diced apples, sugar, water, and lemon juice. If you enjoy a hint of spice, add the optional cinnamon for a warm undertone.

    1. Cook the Mixture: Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat. Once boiling, reduce the heat to a simmer. Allow the mixture to simmer for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.

    1. Strain the Syrup: After simmering, remove the pot from the heat. Carefully strain the mixture through a fine sieve or cheesecloth into a bowl or another pot, ensuring you extract as much liquid as possible. Discard the solid apple pieces or use them for another recipe.

    1. Cool and Store: Let the syrup cool to room temperature. Once cooled, pour it into a sterilized jar or bottle and store it in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.
