Cinnamon Swirl Quick Bread Recipe

  • Author: Katherine

Ingredients

Scale

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar (for swirl)
  • 1 tbsp cinnamon (for swirl)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan to prevent sticking.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the dry ingredients: flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon. Mix well to ensure even distribution.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the wet ingredients: milk, vegetable oil, and eggs. Make sure the mixture is smooth and well combined.
  4. Combine the wet and dry ingredients, gently mixing them together until just combined. Be careful not to over-mix, as this can result in a tougher bread texture.
  5. In a small bowl, prepare the swirl mixture by mixing the brown sugar and cinnamon together.
  6. Pour half of the bread batter into the prepared loaf pan. Sprinkle half of the cinnamon swirl mixture evenly over the batter.
  7. Add the remaining batter to the pan, spreading it gently over the cinnamon layer. Top with the rest of the swirl mixture.
  8. Use a knife to gently swirl the cinnamon mixture through the batter. This creates a beautiful marbled effect in the bread.
  9. Bake for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean, indicating the bread is fully cooked.
  10. Allow the bread to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
