  • Heavy Cream: 1/2 cup

  • Onion Powder: 1 teaspoon
  • Dry Mustard Powder: 1/2 teaspoon
  • Nutmeg: 1/4 teaspoon, freshly grated (optional, but recommended)
  • Sharp Cheddar Cheese: 1 1/2 cups, freshly grated
  • Gruyère Cheese: 1 cup, freshly grated (or Swiss cheese)
  • Parmesan Cheese: 1/4 cup, freshly grated, plus 2 tablespoons for topping
