Air Fryer Churros Recipe

  • Author: Katherine

Ingredients

Scale

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • Cinnamon sugar (for coating)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Wet Ingredients: In a pot, combine water, sugar, vegetable oil, and salt. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat.
  2. Form the Dough: Once boiling, remove the pot from heat and stir in the flour and baking powder until a dough forms. The mixture should come together easily, pulling away from the sides of the pot.
  3. Add Flavor: Stir in the vanilla extract, ensuring it is evenly distributed throughout the dough.
  4. Prepare for Piping: Transfer the dough to a piping bag fitted with a star tip. This will give your churros their classic ridged shape.
  5. Preheat the Air Fryer: Set your air fryer to 375°F (190°C). Allow it to reach the desired temperature before you begin cooking the churros.
  6. Pipe the Churros: Carefully pipe the dough into the air fryer basket, cutting them to your preferred length with scissors or a knife.
  7. Air Fry: Cook the churros for 10-12 minutes, or until they are golden brown and crispy.
  8. Coat with Cinnamon Sugar: While the churros are still warm, roll them in cinnamon sugar to coat evenly.
