One Bowl Brownies Recipe

  • Author: Katherine

Ingredients

Scale

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/3 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat and Prepare:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×9 inch baking pan to ensure the brownies don’t stick.
  2. Mix Wet Ingredients:
In a large bowl, mix together sugar, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  3. Add Eggs:
Add the eggs one at a time, stirring vigorously after each addition until the mixture is smooth and well combined.
  4. Incorporate Dry Ingredients:
Sift in the cocoa powder, all-purpose flour, salt, and baking powder. Mix these dry ingredients with the wet mixture until just combined, ensuring you do not overmix.
  5. Optional Chocolate Chips:
Fold in the chocolate chips if you decide to include them for an extra chocolatey flavor.
  6. Pour and Spread:
Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly with a spatula.
  7. Bake:
Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes. To check for doneness, insert a toothpick into the center of the brownies; it should come out clean or with just a few crumbs.
  8. Cool and Serve:
Allow the brownies to cool in the pan before cutting them into squares. This cooling time helps them set and makes slicing easier.
