Instant Pot Hard-Boiled Eggs Recipe

  • Author: Katherine

Ingredients

Scale

  • 6 large eggs
  • 1 cup of water
  • Ice for cooling

Instructions

  1. Pour Water into the Instant Pot
Begin by pouring 1 cup of water into the Instant Pot. This will create the necessary steam for cooking the eggs.
  2. Place a Steamer Basket or Trivet
Insert a steamer basket or trivet inside the pot. This helps in keeping the eggs elevated above the water, ensuring even cooking.
  3. Arrange the Eggs
Carefully arrange the 6 large eggs in a single layer on the basket or trivet. This ensures that each egg receives equal heat distribution.
  4. Close the Lid and Set the Valve to “Sealing”
Secure the lid of the Instant Pot and set the valve to the “Sealing” position to trap steam inside.
  5. Cook on High Pressure for 5 Minutes
Set the Instant Pot to cook on high pressure for 5 minutes. This timing is perfect for achieving firm and fully cooked eggs.
  6. Quickly Release the Pressure
Once the cooking time is complete, perform a quick release of pressure by carefully turning the valve to the “Venting” position. Be cautious of the hot steam.
  7. Transfer Eggs to an Ice Bath
Immediately transfer the eggs to an ice bath to cool for 5 minutes. This step helps in stopping the cooking process and makes peeling easier.
  8. Peel and Enjoy!
Once cooled, gently peel the eggs and enjoy them as they are or use them in your favorite recipes.
